We booked a giraffe experience and were able to feed them. The giraffe keeper was great. The whole experience was fantastic. You can drive around and stop at the animals you want to see in their expansive enclosures. Overall the park is very well layed out and the staff are very friendly. A great asset to Dubbo.
Awesome. Our mistake was not giving ourselves enough time even though we spent 6 hours there. To see everything and attend all talks, allow 2 days (your entry ticket is for 2 days anyway), bring a picnic lunch and drive your own car around. The entrance ticket is so cheap, especially compared to Australia Zoo. Love this place!!
An amazing zoo and great for families! You need to drive to get from one place to another. The helpful lady at the Dubbo Information Centre told me that some families drive around the whole circuit first to get an idea of how big the place is. She also said that on hot days it is good to try and make it to the different talks by employees so that you get to see the animals as otherwise they might be be hiding from the heat.
Entry price is very reasonable as it covers two consecutive days, you can save further by booking online. You can rent bicycles or golf carts to get around or simply drive your own car. If you visit during summer make sure you get there early before it gets too hot and the animals are hiding in the shade of trees (as they should!).
Really good zoo, so great to ride around on bikes, while driving or walking is also great. Staff are really friendly and helpful. We stayed in the Savannah Safari lodges which were really nice and had a personal view of the animals! A great 2-day experience, there's always something to see, won't run out of things to see.
